Continued Cleanup on the Trail
Violet Crown Trail crews are continuing cleanup efforts following February’s ice storm. You may see crew members on the Trail between the Dick Nichols Trailhead (at Latta Drive) and Slaughter Creek between Monday 3/20 and Friday, 3/24. The Trail is open for use, but please take caution when passing active maintenance efforts.

Periodic closures on Slaughter section of trail through mid-late January
We are currently working on surfacing the section of trail between Slaughter Lane and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. There will be periodic closures between now and mid to late January. We apologize for any inconvenience.
VCT Reopened following Dangerous Conditions
The Violet Crown Trail is officially reopened following the rains and dangerous conditions they created. Still, be cautious as there may still be muddy areas and debris on the trail.
VCT Temporarily Closed
Due to high water and muddy terrain, the trail is temporarily closed. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to reopen!
BRIDGE OUT near Violet Crown Trail mile 3.25
The bridge on the Violet Crown Trail at the Barton Creek Greenbelt near mile marker 3.25 has been washed out. Please take this into consideration when you plan your trip to the Trail.
