Based on historically high usage of city parks in celebration of Easter, all City of Austin parks and trails will close during the Easter weekend to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The closure goes into effect at sunset, Thursday, April 9 and goes through sunrise, Monday, April 13. This temporary restriction will apply to all city parks, trails, greenbelts, and preserves, including portions of the Violet Crown Trail.
Hill Country Conservancy supports the City’s decision, and we ask that you please avoid closed portions of the trail to ensure the safety of our community. To determine which recreation areas the order affects, residents can view the Parks and Recreation Department’s (PARD) parkviewer app– if the greenspace is listed, it will be closed for the holiday weekend.
Thank you for following this order and helping to keep our community safe!
